Goodfood meal kits contain local ingredients
We prioritize sourcing our ingredients from Canadian farms because we know that local food is fresher (in our case, about seven days fresher than what you’ll find at the grocery store!), more nutritious and less heavily packaged. And we know that by sourcing locally, we’re supporting the economies where our valued customers live and work.
Plus, with our just-in-time ordering system, in most cases, the produce you receive in your Goodfood meal kit was harvested just three or four days before!
36 Canadian suppliers
In BC, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes, producing fresh ingredients for our chefs to work with.
Berlo's Best
Simcoe, Ontario
If you receive a meal kit containing sweet potatoes, they were grown by Berlo’s Best.
Berlo’s Best has been family owned and operated since 1998, when they started a 30 acre crop in transition from Southern Ontario’s “Tobacco Belt”. They’ve since grown to 1,100 acres in two provinces, and today they provide Canadians with over 30,000,000 lbs of sweet potatoes. Canadians can enjoy these sweet potatoes anytime, thanks to Berlo’s one of a kind computerized temperature and humidity control system, which ensures proper storage conditions all year round.
Jardins A. Guérin (JAG)
Sherrington, Québec
If you receive a weekly meal kit containing French radishes, red, purple or white radishes, they were grown by Jardins A. Guérin (JAG).
JAG is a third-generation family owned radish producer with an annual production of 600,000 boxes and daily deliveries of radishes to Quebec, Ontario and the east coast of the United States. They operate using green production processes and are Ecocert certified.
GNC Farms
Saint-Lin des Laurentides, Québec
If you receive a meal kit containing Chioggia beets, garlic scapes, golden beets, purple-top turnips, delicata squash, parsnips or rutabagas, they were grown by GNC farms.
Les Fermes G.N.C Inc. was founded as a field vegetables farm in 1986, on mineral-rich land that had been passed down from generation to generation, with an enduring passion for feeding Canadian families. Since then, they have received industry recognition for the tremendous efforts their family takes to ensure Canadians receive the freshest produce.
Big Marble Farms
Redcliff, Alberta
If you live in Western Canada and receive a meal kit containing heirloom tomatoes, mini cucumbers, grape or cherry tomatoes, they were grown by Big Marble Farms.
Big Marble Farms operates Alberta’s largest year-round greenhouse in Redcliff, which is the sunniest place in all of Canada (averaging well over 2,000 hours of sunlight a year). This enables them to offer ripe and delicious tomatoes and cucumber all year long. The greenhouse features ultra efficient heating and water technologies that allow them to farm sustainably. They also avoid using pesticides unless absolutely necessary by using good bugs like bees for pollination and ladybugs to control the population (aka: eat all) of the less friendly ones.
