Born and raised in our hometown of Montreal, Laurent Dagenais kicked off his cooking career with culinary trade school. There he learned everything from retail butchery to pastry making and—as you may have guessed—loved every single second of it.

He spent time honing his craft in famous restaurant kitchens across Canada like the now defunct Le Local in Montreal and Whistler’s Araxi. But like so many talented cooks, the intense hustle just wasn’t for him.

Sharing local fare with 3 million followers

Today, millions of us on social media have the pleasure of watching him create the most delicious, unpretentious dishes. There’s no specific theme or direction to his recipes. He goes with whatever local ingredients are available at the time, which means everything he makes is unique.✨
